Womens Day Special : Healthcare for the Women you love — Coconut Laddu and Healthy Snacks
Women’s Day Special : Healthcare for the Women you love.
Endless nights, PMS, the stress of proving you’re more than a pretty face, fighting for equal pays, playing a homemaker — being a woman is tougher than it seems and we absolutely get it! And as you grow older, you need to start paying more attention to your health and fitness. This Women’s Day we have made this our utmost priority!
What you accomplish in a single day, is herculean in existence, which is why we think you’re no less than a Superhero in your own way. Superman has the sun to charge his powers, Batman has money to do what he does. And they’re all fictional! But you, you don’t need any of that to keep being awesome. You’re a warrior that takes on every single day with the same strength and motivation to do more, to be more!
In order to keep doing what you do, it is necessary to ensure your health remains at its optimum best. Since we care so deeply about you, we’ve compiled a list of tips for you to remain fit and keep being a badass!
1. Vitamin D Supplements
We cannot stress on how important getting your dose of Vitamin D is. As you know, we absorb Vitamin D from the rays of the sun. Due to overuse of sunscreen and desk jobs, we end up limiting our exposure and remain at a deficit.
This Vitamin plays an important part in the overall functioning of your body, the deficit of which causes brittle bones, hormonal imbalances, thyroid dysfunction, back aches, osteoporosis, weight gain etc. Scary isn’t it?
So get your Vitamin levels checked and ask your Healthcare provider to give you a vitamin D supplement should your levels be low.
2. Dark Chocolate
Yes, Dark chocolate eaten in moderation is healthy for you. Thank this ingredient for taking out the guilt from desserts. Dark chocolate — the 70% dark kind, is packed with flavonoid antioxidants which are great for your blood and skin. Eaten in moderation, it can also keep you full longer thus helping with weight loss!
Enjoy some melted dark chocolate with DIP Coconut Laddus for a super healthy dessert.
3. Manage stress
We know how stressful being a woman is, which is why we’re asking you to chill! Yes we know, you’ve got to burn the midnight oil and put in extra hours to get what you want. But stress is only going to bring you medical issues and not to mention blood pressure problems. And the further away we are from that, the better, correct?
So take that holiday, stay in on the weekend, read your favorite novel or just sleep, what we’re saying is do whatever it takes and get some me time! So go pamper yourself, coz you deserve it!
4. Exercise
There’s the dreaded word you were hoping you wouldn’t see — EXERCISE! Physical exertion is what our body needs to remain at its optimum best. Anything that you don’t use is going to collect dust and slowly become defunct, this rule applies to the human body. You have to give your body some kind of exercise, everyday. Exercise is not only important to maintain heart health and muscle health, but also releases happy hormones into your body. Talk about hitting two birds with one stone, right?
5. Slash your risk of Cancer
Find out if anybody in the maternal or paternal side of your family had cancer, and get yourself checked if need be. While you’re at it, talk to your Gynecologist and get an HPV vaccine shot to prevent cervical cancer. Reduce the use of plastic and intake of processed meats to keep your family away from harm’s length too!
We know how much you love your work and family, but ladies, it is time to start paying more attention to yourselves now. This Women’s Day let’s mark the beginning of a change — a change in our lifestyles. Happy Women’s Day!
